If asked, most people would say the classical guide to sex was the Kama Sutra. Not so.

In China about the same time as the Kama Sutra, the Chinese classic, The Golden Lotus was written by Hou Hui.

The book itself is sexually explicit and describes a man’s action with two concubines, as well as his wives.

In careful reading of the book, one can find three very special sexual positions, quite characteristically Chinese, which are such to please any sexually adventurous couple today.

The Horse Position

The woman will lie on her back, with her buttocks at the edge of the bed or even a table.

The man will kneel on cushions in front of her (or stand if she is on a table), and when ready will penetrate the woman, while caressing her breasts and fondling her clitoris.

No thrusting is required, just a rocking motion, and keep maximum penetration., The woman can asl0 grip the man’s waist with her feet crossed.

The man keeps pressing himself against the woman, and the woman can tighten her grip with her crossed feet.

This gives both the man and the woman extreme pleasure, as the pressure acts to join and connect the two lovers.

Furthermore, the man will be able to feel the woman’s vagina contracting, while the woman can feel each subtle movement of the man’s penis. Orgasm follows quickly in this position for both partners.

The Double Lotus Pose

As the name suggests, the man will sit in the classic lotus or semi-lotus position on the floor or bed.

The woman will mount the man sitting in lotus pose and insert his erect penis firmly into her vagina.

The woman will wrap her legs around the man’s waist, and the couple will embrace. The couple are free to kiss, while the man’s hands can fondle the woman’s buttocks or breasts.

There is no thrusting, only a pressing rhythmic motion. This position gives great pleasure to the couple, and they can remain joined in this position for a very long time.

The Golden Crane

The man will kneel at the edge of a bed or stand at the end of a table in front of the ready woman lying on her back.

The man will hold the woman’s legs apart, with his hands gripping her ankles. With the woman’s legs held apart, the man then penetrates her from his standing or kneeling position.

As in the Horse Pose, penetration is very deep, The man must be careful and not to go to quickly as this may cause the woman undesirable pain.

This position is highly stimulating for the man, so it must not be done by those men who arrive at their crisis too early.

All three of these positions are well known by Chinese and other oriental men of sexual experience, and are considered the three best Chinese sexual positions.

The Pangaea Ranga was written sometime in the twelfth century AD in India.

Unlike the Kama Sutra which is a manual for a man’s life, the Ananga Ranga is a love manual, pure and simple.

The information it contains is meant to be the advice to keep a husband and wife together.

Many of the sexual positions from the Ananga Ranga are taken from the Kama Sutra however,the translation into English was done by Sir Richard Burton, as were so many other texts of priceless literature.

First Real Sex Manual

The Ananga Ranga is truly a sex manual, and contains advice of all kinds including sexual positions and techniques. Here follows some of these positions which are suited to oriental body types, but may prove a real challenge to the European or American couple.

Gajasawa, the Elephant Posture).

The woman will lie down in such a position that her face, breast, stomach, and thighs all touch the bed.

Then the man will lay down on top of the woman, but bending himself like an elephant, with the small of the back, much drawn in, finds her genitals, enters, penetrates, and moves in a pulsating manner.

The Large Bee Position:

The woman, places her man at full length upon the bed, then sits and squats upon his thighs, and the man will penetrate her.

She then closes her legs firmly after he has effected penetration: and the woman will begin to move her waist in a circular motion, and completely satisfies herself.

The Cow-Posture (note the cultural differences.

This is a variation what the Americans call doggy style, but the dog was an unclean animal, and thus any reference to it was avoided):

Here the woman places herself upon all fours, supported on her hands and feet (but not her knees), then the man, enters from the rear, taking hold of the woman’s waist, forcefully penetrates her, and enjoys her as if he were a bull.

The Sitting Posture for when both man and woman are sitting. Here the woman will slightly raises one leg by placing the hand under it, and the penetrates her and enjoys her fully.

Some Interesting Information for the Man and Woman

• When the man is tired, the woman on top position must be used.

• The woman should learn to handle a man’s penis as if it were the tit of a cow, and milk it.

• A woman should learn the technique of developing her vaginal muscles so that not even a motion is required to bring the man to orgasm, but the contractions she is able to produce.

• The couple must practice sexual variety, as lack of it will soon cause both man and woman to seek different sensations from others.

• When a woman’s vagina has lost its tightness and has become slack, the man should press her legs together during sexual activity and she will appear tight once again.

• If the woman is stronger than the man, she must open her legs very wide, and let the man penetrate her. She will weaken immediately.

These are only a few gems from this timeless classic, whose advice today is as appropriate now as it was then.

There are many sexual positions that can be described, but few are known to enhance both the male and female orgasm.

There is one from the Kama Sutra and one from the Perfumed Garden that are sure to bring the lovers to a swift and profound orgasm and climax.

The Human Orgasm

Strangely enough, there are very few clear answers to what the human orgasm is. We know that certainly during orgasm our bodies and mental states are temporary altered.

Sigmund Freud made some clear separations in the female orgasm with a separation between clitoral and vaginal orgasms…stating that the former was not good, and the latter was much better .

This concept has been large abandoned in today’s world.

We do know our bodies (males in their ways and females in their ways) undergo changes such as heart rate, blood pressure, sensitivity of the skin, chemical changes (hormones in the bloodstream) and so on.

It appears that now in 2007 we still rely on the studies of Masters and Johnson (Sexual Response Cycle) to understand what is going on during our orgasm.

Advice form the Kama Sutra (on the best sexual position for enchanted orgasm)

Often called the Conch, this position will stimulate a woman’s clitoris, her g-spot and make her feel filled up.

When performed well, both partners reach an immense orgasm of unforgettable magnitude. The Kama Sutra explains it like this:

The woman will lay on her back,

the man positions (kneels) himself between her open legs, raising them,

The woman will hook her feet over his thighs, or even over his shoulders,

Then he will fondle her breasts, enjoying her well: this is known as Manmathpriya

More specifically, and in today’s language, the woman lies down on their back with her legs resting on the man’s shoulders.

The man then enters her from a kneeling position.

The man’s penis is inserted to it’s full depth inside her vagina and; and with some proper thrusting, the woman receives and immense pleasure from this feeling. She feels very full, and the man too, finds himself lost in pleasure.

For even extra depth, a small pillow can be pleased under the woman’s buttocks, and even the man with a small than average penis can achieve a great satisfaction for the woman in this position.

Advice from the Perfumed Garden

From all of the positions mentioned, this is the one that brings the greatest orgasm, as it (as in the Conch from the Kama Sutra) causes great clitoral and g-spot stimulation. In the words of the great Sheikh Nefzaoui,

THIRTEENTH MANNER – Dok el arz (pounding on the spot).

The man sits down with his legs stretched out; the woman then places herself astride on his thighs, crossing her legs behind the back of the man, and places her vulva opposite his member, which latter she guides into her vagina; she then places her arms round his neck, and he embraces her sides and waist, and helps her to rise and descend upon his verge. She must assist in his work.

Many people believe the Kama Sutra to be either depictive graphic statues at a Hindu temple, or some sort of advanced sex manual. In fact, it is nothing of the sort – it’s a life guide book, which covers a man’s life from puberty to death.

Only one chapter deals with sexual positions at all and it is from this chapter we are now presenting for you the best positions in the Kama Sutra from both a male and female perspective.

One word however; the Kama Sutra makes reference to the sizes of both the man’s penis and the woman’s vagina.

The union of mismatched (a woman with too large a vagina for a smaller man) has its own special positions. So, the three positions found below are for a matched couple (where the man and woman have either both a small penis and a narrow vagina, or a larger penis and a wider vagina. The last position mentioned is for the man with the smaller penis and the woman with a larger vagina.

Criterion for “Best Sexual Positions”

It is common wisdom that for a position to be considered “best’ it must fulfill the following conditions.

• Give the woman a feeling of being completely satisfied

• Stimulate both her clitoral and g-spot areas

• Lead to mutual termination

• Help allay the man’s crisis in order to prolong the sexual union

• Let the man deposit his sperm deep within the woman’s vagina, thereby giving both lovers the feeling of great satisfaction.

Therefore, assuming in the following 3 positions, an adequate sized man and not too wide woman, here we will go into detail regarding the best positions in the Kama Sutra from the perspective of:

The best laying position, the best sitting position and the best standing position.

Best Laying Position – The Wife of Indra (with variation 1)

In this position, the woman is on her back, and she will be put into a full “tuck” pose, or her knees held firmly back to her breasts as possible. Her tucked legs are also open, and this will expose her genital area in full.

The kneeling man will then penetrate her, and lean over her and this assures maximum penetration. It can be painful to some women so the man must be careful in his movements.

The tucking of the woman’s legs shortens her uterus, and the man can take full advantage of this in his rhythmical thrusting. The man can also withdrawn and re-enter several times, causing a great stimulation to the g-spot area.

At the near close of the union, the man can cease thrusting, but remain deeply planted and the man pressing only from his hips and the woman returning his pressing from hers. As the crisis appears, both lovers will terminate in unison.

A variation of this has the woman’s back elevated, and the man standing…the feeling is incomparable to any other position.

Best Sitting Position – The Wheel of Kama

The man will sit up (on a bed or carpet) with his legs outstretched. The woman will mount him astride (facing him) and lower herself on to his erect penis.

The woman then outstretches her legs, and the couple clasp their arms around each other’s body. The man can draw the woman’s buttocks closer to him, until there is maximum penetration.

The woman and man’s pubic areas are the most direct of contact with a great deal of pressure. This causes extreme stimulation to both the woman’s clitoral and g-spot areas. There is no trusting – only a pushing movement from the man and woman, also a circular movement, and the woman and begin a “bump and grind” movement with her hips. There should be much mutual kissing and the man fondling the woman’s breasts.

Mutual termination comes after a long and pleasant union.

Best Standing Position – The Hump of the Camel

The couple both stand, but the woman will lean against a wall or tree, perhaps the frame of a bed. The man will come from behind her as she leans, and find her vagina and fondle it some to make sure it is adequately wet. The man then bends his knees and finds the correct angle to enter the woman. The woman too will have to either bend her legs or stand on some elevated object till the couple finds the perfect and most comfortable angle.

The man then begins his thrusting, and should alternate between deep and shallow thrusts. The man can also not thrust at all, but press hardly into the woman’s vagina, and seek direct pressure on the g-spot area.

With mutual movements, the couple will hopefully arrive to a synchronized orgasm and termination.

Best Mismatched Position (man with a smaller penis woman with a wider vagina) – The Bottle Stopper

The man will sit on the edge of a bed of sofa, and the woman will sit on top of his lap, inserting his smaller but erect penis into her vagina. The woman the wraps her legs around the man’s back.

The couple, in tight embrace, engages in no thrusting, but only mutual pressing and rubbing of their pubic areas. The wider woman will still feel full and she stimulates her clitoris by moving her public area against the man’s pubic area (which contains the hard root of the erect penis). There must be much kissing and fondling, as the lover’s hands are free to explore their partner’s body.

The couple can stimulate also the anal areas with their fingers. The crisis is long postponed in this position, and the couple will mutually enjoy each other for an extended period. When the crisis does arrive, it will be accompanied by a sense of euphoria.
